        I am an ornithologist with a research focus on antipredatory behaviour, especially mobbing behaviour. This behaviour appears to be puzzling since mobbing can be risky for prey species, but it is widespread in birds, mammals and fishes. A number of hypotheses have been put forward to explain the evolution of mobbing behaviour (signal to the predator, move on the predator, a sexual selected signal, protection of kin).
