Director of the Centre for Tropical Biodiversity & Climate Change, and Head of the Terrestrial Ecosystem group at James Cook University. Interested in the behaviour and ecology of social insects and bats in tropical regions of the world. Currently focusing on collective decision-making in ants. Working extensively on Polyrhachis and Oecophylla ants, transitioning from a behavioural into a neurobehavioral approach.
